From Geneva Airport the drive heads south on the A41 towards Annecy, continues to Albertville and follows the N90 up the Tarentaise valley past Moûtiers to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. From Bourg-Saint-Maurice the road climbs past Sainte-Foy to the Chevril dam and on to the villages of Tignes. In normal traffic the drive takes about 2 h 55 for roughly 192 km.
On winter Saturdays, when most chalets and apartments change guests, the roads around Geneva and towards the resorts can be busy, and snowfall slows traffic in the mountains. Your driver plans for this and keeps you informed. For your return flight we usually recommend leaving Tignes about 4 h 30 before departure on weekdays and about 5 h on winter Saturdays.
