From Lyon Saint-Exupéry the drive follows the A43 motorway east past Chambéry to Albertville, then the N90 expressway up the Tarentaise valley to Aime, before the final mountain road to La Plagne. In normal traffic the drive takes about 2 h 30 for roughly 162 km.
On winter Saturdays, when most chalets and apartments change guests, the roads around Lyon and towards the resorts can be busy, and snowfall slows traffic in the mountains. Your driver plans for this and keeps you informed. For your return flight we usually recommend leaving La Plagne about 4 h before departure on weekdays and about 4 h 30 on winter Saturdays.

Train. There is no direct train from Lyon Airport to La Plagne: you would travel with at least one change to Aime-La Plagne and continue by bus or taxi, which takes much longer than the road.
